The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been protesting in Parliament, demanding an investigation into the visit visa issue.
The issue, widely known as the “Visit Visa” scam, involves employees of the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport, under the Home Ministry, allegedly collecting money in an organized manner.
RSP has been obstructing parliamentary meetings, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and the formation of an investigation committee regarding the visit visa scam. The party has also been engaging in sloganeering and surrounding the well of the House.
Meanwhile, RSP lawmakers adopted a different style of protest before entering the Parliament building on Tuesday. All RSP lawmakers wore blue scarves to express their dissent.
"We thought about how we could protest in a creative manner," an RSP lawmaker said. "Accordingly, we have expressed our protest by wearing blue scarves."
The House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday is scheduled to hold discussions on the budget presented on May 29.
