The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been adjourned.
Opposition lawmakers obstructed the proceedings as soon as Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced the start of the House meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
Opposition parties, including the main opposition CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and CPN (Unified Socialist), have been continuously obstructing Parliament, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and the formation of an inquiry committee over the visit visa controversy.
Despite repeated dialogues between ruling and opposition party leaders to resolve the House deadlock, no agreement has been reached, leading to the continued obstruction of the HoR.
The HoR meeting on Wednesday was adjourned following obstructions and sloganeering by lawmakers of opposition parties. Opposition lawmakers chanted slogans demanding Home Minister Lekhak’s resignation.
Speaker Ghimire removed all items from the agenda and adjourned the meeting until Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.
