Activists of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal have burned effigies of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in protest against the detention of their leaders.
Police detained RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa and others during a demonstration on Sunday at Narayan Chaur in Naxal of Kathmandu.
Police also detained RPP lawmaker Deepak Singh, who had gone to meet the detained leaders, including Thapa, at Bhadrakali.
Following the detentions, party activists burned effigies of PM Oli and Home Minister Lekhak at Kalopul in Kathmandu on Sunday evening, demanding the release of their leaders.
