Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Gagan Thapa has registered a motion of public importance in the House of Representatives (HoR) about bringing back Nepalis stranded in foreign countries on Monday.
The motion was registered with support of NC lawmakers Dila Sangraula and Prakash Rasaily Snehi.
The motion urges the government for an immediate plan to bring Nepalis stranded in foreign countries in course of employment, study, tour or any other business.
Pointing that the Supreme Court has already instructed the government to bring back stranded Nepalis, and parliamentary committees have also drawn the government's attention and even instructed to bring them back, the motion reminds that getting to return to Nepal is the right of Nepali citizens and bringing them safely back the state's duty.
The State Affairs Committee of the parliament earlier on the day instructed the government to let the Nepalis stranded at the border with India in.
Pointing that many Nepalis are suffering at the border after being stopped from entering Nepal, the committee said they should be brought in as soon a possible.
It also instructed the government to bring Nepalis abroad who want to return home. It has said they should be brought to Nepal implementing international standards.
Many Nepalis are stranded at different border points with India now.
The Supreme Court has also already instructed the government to bring the stranded Nepalis in but the government has continued the border lockdown with India.
